Barbell Rollouts exercise
Barbell rollouts are a challenging weighted core exercise similar to ab wheel rollouts but performed with a barbell loaded with weight plates. This movement targets the entire core, especially the rectus abdominis and deep stabilizer muscles, while also engaging the shoulders, lats, and hips. It is excellent for building overall core strength, stability, and control.

How to perform Barbell Rollouts
- Load a barbell with small weight plates that can roll smoothly on the floor.
- Kneel on the ground and grasp the barbell with both hands using an overhand grip, shoulder-width apart.
- Engage your core and slowly roll the barbell forward, extending your body as far as you can while keeping your back straight.
- Pause briefly at the extended position without letting your hips sag.
- Engage your core and exhale as you pull the barbell back toward your knees to return to the starting position.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions with control.
Use controlled movement and an appropriate variation for your current ability. Stop if an exercise causes sharp pain, and seek qualified guidance when needed.
