Stretching
Downward Dog exercise
A foundational yoga pose that stretches the entire body—especially the hamstrings, calves, shoulders, and back—while improving flexibility and strength.

How to perform Downward Dog
- Begin on your hands and knees in a tabletop position.
- Tuck your toes under and lift your hips toward the ceiling, straightening your legs as much as comfortable.
- Press your hands firmly into the mat and relax your head between your arms.
- Hold the stretch, feeling the length through your spine and back of the legs.
Use controlled movement and an appropriate variation for your current ability. Stop if an exercise causes sharp pain, and seek qualified guidance when needed.
