L-Sit (on floor or between chairs) exercise
The L-sit is a powerful isometric bodyweight exercise that builds exceptional core, hip flexor, tricep, and shoulder strength. Performed on the floor or between elevated surfaces like chairs or parallettes, this advanced movement requires full-body tension, stability, and control. It’s commonly used in gymnastics and calisthenics to develop strength, endurance, and muscle definition.

How to perform L-Sit (on floor or between chairs)
- Sit on the floor with your legs extended straight in front of you and your hands flat on the floor beside your hips.
- Press your hands into the ground and engage your core and legs.
- Lift your entire body off the floor, keeping your legs straight and together in front of you.
- Maintain a 90-degree angle between your torso and legs, forming an 'L' shape.
- Hold this position for as long as possible, keeping your core tight and arms locked.
- Lower yourself back to the floor with control once your form begins to break.
- If using chairs, grip the edges for support and follow the same lifting motion.
Use controlled movement and an appropriate variation for your current ability. Stop if an exercise causes sharp pain, and seek qualified guidance when needed.
