Skater Jumps exercise
Skater jumps are a lateral plyometric exercise that mimics a speed skater’s motion, helping to build explosive power, coordination, and agility. This bodyweight move targets the glutes, quads, hamstrings, and calves while also engaging the core. It’s excellent for improving balance and athleticism through controlled side-to-side jumping.

How to perform Skater Jumps
- Stand upright with your feet hip-width apart and your arms at your sides.
- Shift your weight onto your right foot, bend your right knee slightly, and prepare to jump.
- Leap laterally to your left, landing softly on your left foot while swinging your right leg behind you.
- Let your right arm swing in front of your body for balance and coordination.
- Immediately jump to the right side, landing on your right foot while swinging the left leg behind.
- Continue jumping side to side in a smooth, controlled rhythm.
- Focus on balance, soft landings, and maintaining a steady pace.
Use controlled movement and an appropriate variation for your current ability. Stop if an exercise causes sharp pain, and seek qualified guidance when needed.
