Tricep Pushdown exercise
The tricep pushdown is a popular cable machine exercise that isolates and strengthens the triceps. It’s often used to build arm size and definition, making it a staple in upper-body workouts.

How to perform Tricep Pushdown
- Stand facing a cable machine with a high pulley and attach a straight or angled bar.
- Grip the bar with an overhand grip, hands shoulder-width apart.
- Tuck your elbows close to your sides and keep your back straight and chest up.
- Push the bar down by extending your elbows until your arms are fully straight.
- Pause briefly at the bottom to contract your triceps.
- Slowly return the bar to the starting position with control.
- Repeat for the desired number of reps, keeping your upper arms stationary.
Use controlled movement and an appropriate variation for your current ability. Stop if an exercise causes sharp pain, and seek qualified guidance when needed.
