Jumping Lunge exercise

The jumping lunge is a high-intensity, plyometric variation of the traditional lunge that builds explosive lower-body power, strength, and balance. It targets the quads, glutes, hamstrings, and calves while also engaging the core for stability. This exercise elevates the heart rate, making it an effective movement for both strength and conditioning workouts.

How to perform Jumping Lunge

  1. Start in a standard lunge position with your right foot forward and left foot back, both knees bent at 90 degrees.
  2. Engage your core and use your arms for momentum as you jump explosively into the air.
  3. While airborne, switch the position of your legs, bringing your left foot forward and right foot back.
  4. Land softly in a lunge position with your left leg forward, absorbing the impact through your legs.
  5. Keep your chest upright and avoid leaning forward during the movement.
  6. Continue alternating legs with each jump for the desired number of reps.
  7. Focus on controlled landings to reduce stress on your joints.

Use controlled movement and an appropriate variation for your current ability. Stop if an exercise causes sharp pain, and seek qualified guidance when needed.
