Decline Weighted Crunches exercise

Decline weighted crunches intensify the standard crunch by using a decline bench and added resistance. The decline angle increases the range of motion and muscle activation in the upper and lower abdominals, while the weight provides progressive overload for strength and definition. It’s an excellent exercise for developing a sculpted, strong core.

How to perform Decline Weighted Crunches

  1. Adjust a decline bench to a comfortable angle and secure your feet under the padded supports.
  2. Lie back on the bench while holding a dumbbell or weight plate against your chest or behind your head.
  3. Engage your core and exhale as you lift your shoulder blades off the bench, curling your upper body toward your knees.
  4. Pause briefly at the top and squeeze your abs for maximum contraction.
  5. Inhale as you slowly lower your upper body back to the starting position under control.
  6. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions while maintaining steady breathing and form.

Use controlled movement and an appropriate variation for your current ability. Stop if an exercise causes sharp pain, and seek qualified guidance when needed.
