Jump Squat exercise

The jump squat is a powerful lower-body plyometric exercise that builds strength, speed, and explosive power. It primarily targets the quadriceps, glutes, hamstrings, and calves, while also engaging your core for balance and stability. Jump squats are excellent for increasing athletic performance and boosting cardiovascular endurance without the need for any equipment.

How to perform Jump Squat

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and your arms at your sides.
  2. Lower into a squat by bending your knees and pushing your hips back, keeping your chest up.
  3. Swing your arms upward as you explode through your legs to jump straight into the air.
  4. Extend your hips, knees, and ankles fully at the top of the jump.
  5. Land softly on the balls of your feet and immediately lower back into the squat position.
  6. Keep your core engaged and back straight throughout the movement.
  7. Repeat for the desired number of reps, maintaining control and proper form.

Use controlled movement and an appropriate variation for your current ability. Stop if an exercise causes sharp pain, and seek qualified guidance when needed.
