Plyometric Push-Ups exercise

Plyometric push-ups are an explosive variation of the traditional push-up designed to develop upper body power and strength. By pushing off the ground with enough force for your hands to lift momentarily, this movement activates fast-twitch muscle fibers in the chest, shoulders, and triceps. It’s great for improving speed, athleticism, and explosive pressing power without the need for weights.

How to perform Plyometric Push-Ups

  1. Start in a standard push-up position with your hands slightly wider than shoulder-width apart and your body forming a straight line from head to heels.
  2. Engage your core and lower your chest toward the ground by bending your elbows until they reach about a 90-degree angle.
  3. Explosively push through your hands to propel your upper body off the floor, allowing your hands to leave the ground briefly.
  4. Land softly by bending your elbows as you return to the starting position, absorbing the impact under control.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, maintaining good form and consistent explosive effort.

Use controlled movement and an appropriate variation for your current ability. Stop if an exercise causes sharp pain, and seek qualified guidance when needed.
