Cable Lateral Raise exercise

The cable lateral raise is an isolation exercise targeting the lateral (middle) deltoid head. It helps build shoulder width and roundness, and offers constant tension throughout the movement thanks to the cable resistance.

How to perform Cable Lateral Raise

  1. Stand next to a low cable pulley with the handle attachment in the hand farthest from the machine.
  2. Keep your non-working hand on your hip or braced for support.
  3. With a slight bend in your elbow, raise your arm out to the side until it's parallel with the floor.
  4. Pause briefly at the top and feel the contraction in your shoulder.
  5. Slowly lower the handle back to the starting position with control.
  6. Complete all reps on one side, then switch arms.

Use controlled movement and an appropriate variation for your current ability. Stop if an exercise causes sharp pain, and seek qualified guidance when needed.
