Lateral Raise exercise
The lateral raise is an isolation exercise that targets the lateral deltoids, helping build broader shoulders and improve shoulder strength and stability. It’s commonly performed with dumbbells and promotes controlled, smooth movement for maximum effectiveness.

How to perform Lateral Raise
- Stand tall with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand at your sides with palms facing inward.
- Engage your core and maintain a slight bend in your elbows throughout the movement.
- Raise both arms out to the sides until they are parallel to the floor, keeping your wrists neutral and shoulders relaxed.
- Pause briefly at the top and squeeze your shoulders.
- Slowly lower the dumbbells back to the starting position under control.
- Avoid swinging your body or using momentum; focus on slow, deliberate movement.
Use controlled movement and an appropriate variation for your current ability. Stop if an exercise causes sharp pain, and seek qualified guidance when needed.
