Chest Press exercise

The chest press is a foundational strength exercise that targets the pectoral muscles, triceps, and shoulders. It builds upper-body power and muscle mass while improving pressing strength for daily activities and sports performance.

How to perform Chest Press

  1. Adjust the seat height so that the handles are level with the middle of your chest when seated.
  2. Sit with your back flat against the pad and your feet flat on the floor or foot platform.
  3. Grasp the handles with an overhand grip, keeping your wrists straight and elbows bent at about 90 degrees.
  4. Engage your core and press the handles forward by extending your arms until they are almost straight (do not lock your elbows).
  5. Pause briefly at the end of the movement while squeezing your chest muscles.
  6. Slowly return the handles back toward your chest under control until your elbows are bent again.
  7. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, maintaining steady breathing and a controlled tempo.

Use controlled movement and an appropriate variation for your current ability. Stop if an exercise causes sharp pain, and seek qualified guidance when needed.
