Hindu Push-Up exercise

The Hindu push-up is a dynamic bodyweight movement that builds strength, flexibility, and endurance across multiple muscle groups. Originating from traditional Indian wrestling training, this exercise targets the chest, shoulders, triceps, spine, and core through a flowing range of motion. It’s excellent for improving mobility while developing upper body and core strength.

How to perform Hindu Push-Up

  1. Start in a downward dog position with your hips raised, arms and legs straight, and your hands and feet firmly on the floor.
  2. Lower your head and chest down in an arcing motion, bending your elbows as you move forward and down.
  3. Glide your chest close to the ground and scoop upward into an upward-facing dog position, extending your spine and looking slightly up.
  4. Keep your hips low and your arms straight at the end of the motion.
  5. Reverse the motion by raising your hips back up and returning to the starting downward dog position.
  6. Perform the movement smoothly and continuously, focusing on full-body control and fluidity.
  7. Repeat for the desired number of reps.

Use controlled movement and an appropriate variation for your current ability. Stop if an exercise causes sharp pain, and seek qualified guidance when needed.
