Leg Curl exercise
The leg curl machine isolates and strengthens the hamstrings, helping improve lower-body balance, athletic performance, and knee stability. It’s an essential exercise for building posterior chain strength.

How to perform Leg Curl
- Adjust the leg curl machine so the pad rests just above your ankles when you are seated or lying face down, depending on the machine type.
- Position yourself with your knees aligned with the machine’s pivot point and grip the handles or side pads for support.
- Engage your core and flex your legs by pulling your heels toward your glutes in a smooth, controlled motion.
- Squeeze your hamstrings at the top of the movement for a brief pause.
- Slowly extend your legs back to the starting position without letting the weight stack touch.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, maintaining steady breathing and full control throughout.
Use controlled movement and an appropriate variation for your current ability. Stop if an exercise causes sharp pain, and seek qualified guidance when needed.
