Pec Deck exercise

The pec deck, also known as the machine chest fly, isolates the chest muscles—particularly the pectoralis major—to enhance chest definition and strength. It’s a controlled movement that helps develop the inner and outer chest.

How to perform Pec Deck

  1. Adjust the seat height so that the machine handles are level with the middle of your chest when seated.
  2. Sit with your back flat against the pad and place your feet flat on the floor.
  3. Grasp the handles with your elbows slightly bent and positioned at shoulder level.
  4. Engage your core and slowly bring the handles together in front of your chest in a wide arc, keeping your elbows fixed in position.
  5. Squeeze your chest muscles at the end of the movement for a brief pause.
  6. Slowly return the handles to the starting position until your chest feels a stretch, maintaining control throughout.
  7. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, focusing on a smooth, controlled motion without jerking or bouncing.

Use controlled movement and an appropriate variation for your current ability. Stop if an exercise causes sharp pain, and seek qualified guidance when needed.
